What health issues are your teens having?

Hi Everyone,

My son Hunter just turned 17.   He has CVID or agammaglobuinemia (he doesn't fit the perfect clinical picture of either).  I got a call from his work on Thursday that he almost passed out and was white as a ghost.   I took him to the ER and found he is anemic and was dehydrated.  Hunter complains of lightheadedness and dizziness a lot.  He also complains of chronic intestinal pain although he doesn't have diarrhea and doesn't think he is constipated-I think he is at times.  He complains of NEVER feeling good and doesn't know what it is like to feel good.  He complains of knee and ankle pain quite frequently.  He is very thin and has lost 8 lbs in the last six months.   He is 5'10" and weighs 130lbs.  He has a very low energy level.  I have encouraged him to exercise and that it would help him to feel better.  He said that he wouldn't have energy to go to work and to exercise.  Seems like a strange statement for a 17-year-old.

I do get frustrated because I feel that Hunter could do more to improve his health, like exercise and  healthier eating.  He also doesn't have much interest in anything except his computer and his video games.

Does anyone else have a child with these symptoms?  Thanks for any input.
