IEP'S AND COLLEGE

Tiffani wants to do the Running Start Program in the fall. It is a program at the junior college where high school juniors and seniors can take college classes and get college cedits and credits for high school. She has a Medical IEP for school. I had some concerns and went to the Disability Office with a copy of the IEP. They looked at it and said they had never heard of this disease. No surprise to me.  I was told that they do not hono the IEP nor do they have to make any accomodations for her since its not a physical need. WHAT.....I was told the IEP is only good for high school not college. Funny she is a high schooler you accept to come part time. The woman was rude and bascially said  they would have to have a meeting to discuss this issue. I said fine lets set the date and I will attend. She said it would be their disability staff only. WHAT... As I was leaving I heard her tell the woman at the desk next to her, "those high school moms are over protective". Oh really. I turned around and confronted her as to her statement. She seemed a little shocked.  I told her maybe she was the one with the disability that she could not see past her door.  That maybe she should wait until the parent has gone before making such statements.  Everyone is this office was quiet. I asked who their supervisor was and wrote it down. I was told she was out of office until after spring break. I could not help myself. I said I see, thats why you thought it was appropriate to be so rude, with your boss away. Let me tell you that I will be having a meeting about this with your supervisor an I will expect an apology when I return. With that I turned and left,

Now my question is what about IEPs for college or 504's. Give me some advice.
